OUR STORY

In April of 2020 Bradley posted his first YouTube video showing his process on how to make a backyard offset smoker, and then began posting videos detailing how to cook restaurant quality Texas barbecue in your backyard. While posting videos he was building and selling cookers in his home garage. The channel quickly gained popularity and pit sales started to get overwhelming and within a year it became clear that the demand and the price of steel was getting out of hand, and he needed to figure out a new business model.

With the waitlist closed and over a hundred cookers on order, Brad reached out to his friend Nick, or Bones as he calls him, to help get caught up. They also decided to figure out a new direction for the company because it was clear that building cookers in a two car garage was not sustainable.

They knew that their biggest strength was knowledge of cooking and design, not the actual manufacturing. With this in mind they went on a search for manufacturers that shared their values; focus on quality, made in Texas, and reliable. After months of vetting companies they found what they were looking for and hit the ground running building cookers, a line of BBQ rubs, and cooking tools.

In 2023 it became clear that they needed to structure the company to keep up with the growing demand.

In 2024 the Chuds team decided to turn their store into a one stop shop for barbecue supplies. They are constantly looking for new products to sell, but are very picky on what products make the cut. Only the products that they use themselves will make it in the store, so there’s no gimmicks and you know it’s a product that you will love.
