Details

The Pro Grill Grate System is made to last and gives you ultimate control of your food, measuring 16.25" x 22.75". The system includes the Pro Grill Frame and two Pro Plates of your choice, and with 5 different plate configurations, you can be ready for any grilling situation. Each plate has a raised handle with a cutout to make it easy to maneuver them with your hands or tongs.

The Top Grill Plate is made of 1/4" carbon steel with our custom grill hole configuration for maximum strength. This plate sits on top of the frame and can slide over the other two plates, and the other two plates can slide under this plate. Fits the Chud Grill*.

The Bottom Grill Plate is made of 1/4" carbon steel with our custom grill hole configuration for maximum strength and sits inside the frame. Fits the Chud Grill and Chud Box.

The Griddle Plate is made of 3/16" carbon steel with a single slot for grease management and sits inside the frame. Fits the Chud Grill and Chud Box.

*The Chud Box lid is larger and will hit the Top Grill Plate, it will be propped open by 1/4". It still works great with the Grill Basket, but for direct heat cooking we don't recommend the top grill plate.

Good if it will live on your grill

So I’m giving this three stars as a grate system for the Chudbox because I have to take it off and store the whole system to use the Chudbox as a direct heat cooker, which is almost always. I bought this grate system to try to keep myself from buying a Chud grill, honestly. Lol. If you had this for the grill and it stayed on the grill without having to move the fairly heavy, and most often a bit dirty, panels all the time, it’s probably worthy of four stars. I will say the top grate did not slide easily and it was because the length of the panel wasn’t enough or perhaps the frame it fits in expanded after being heated up. I didn’t test how it slid before I used it. A sort of simple fix was to pinch one side of the frame and bend it inwards a little bit (see pic). That seems to have done the trick but it makes removing the bottom grate a tiny bit more cumbersome as I have to pull it away from the bent in side. Not a terrible inconvenience, but this isn’t a $30 grate, it was over five times that. I think I prefer using the expandable grates as this is sort of a pain to clean as well. Again, if it lived on my grill I’d not care as much how clean it gets, but since I have to remove it and store it somewhere it’s a consideration.
